Gracie Smeaton Grange is introducing a new Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class structure from Monday, 7 September 2026 — including a new class especially for children aged 4 to 6 years.
The revised timetable has been designed to provide more age-appropriate training groups, helping each child develop movement, coordination, confidence and foundational grappling skills in a supportive environment.
A new class for ages 4–6
Our new 4–6-year-old class gives younger children an engaging introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through structured, age-appropriate activities.
Classes will focus on:
- Movement, balance and coordination
- Listening and following instructions
- Confidence and social skills
- Body awareness and safe physical play
- Foundational grappling movements
- Respect, discipline and teamwork
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be a great way for young children to build confidence while developing physical skills in a positive, encouraging setting.
Updated Kids and Teen age groups
Alongside the new 4–6-year-old class, our existing Kids and Teen classes will move to updated age groups from 7 September.
These changes allow us to better match training activities, coaching and class progression to the developmental stage of each student. Grouping students more closely by age supports a safer, more enjoyable and more effective learning experience for everyone on the mats.
If your child already trains with us, please check the new timetable before attending classes from Monday, 7 September 2026.
