José Mario Sperry, also known as “Zé Mario,” is a legendary figure in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a pioneer in MMA. Sperry carries a rich legacy of triumphs that cement his position as one of the most influential Competitor and coach in martial arts history.
Zé Mario is a three-time IFBJJ World Jiu-Jitsu Champion including weight category and the absolute division.
Six times ADCC champion including weight category and the absolute division. His exceptional contribution to the sport was recognized with his inclusion in the ADCC Hall of Fame and being named the Fighter of the Decade by the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) in 2000.
As a co-founder of the Brazilian Top Team, Sperry played a crucial role in developing a new generation of MMA fighters, training athletes who excelled in global competitions.
